The Beautiful Dolomites of Northeast Italy

October 24, 2018

What do you think of when you hear someone say ‘Italy’?  I’m willing to bet you think of delicious pastas, wines and vineyards, the beautiful Amalfi coastlines, and even possibly the mob.  But what a lot of people wouldn’t think of (that I do) are the Dolomites. The Dolomites are a unique mountain range located … More The Beautiful Dolomites of Northeast Italy

Buying an old cargo van compared to a buying a brand new one definitely comes with some dirty work in the beginning. Our budget didn’t allow for a brand new van, but we are still willing to do anything it takes to achieve the van lifestyle we want and love. I am so thankful everyday for having found someone who shares the same crazy passions and interests in life as I do. It has allowed me to be my true self since day 1 and continually allows me to feel true happiness as we plan and conquer our crazy goals together. Even during the not-so-glamorous times that we have been working on lately. It can seem like such a slow process when we ‘want things now’. But when I reflect back, before I had the van all I wanted was the van.. and now I have one. So now even though I want our build process to speed up and be done now, in a few months from now the build will be just another memory as well. Nothing happens overnight and it is important to enjoy every single moment along the way. Our teamwork is definitely going to make our dream work. Love ya babe @snowydiscovering #vanlife #vanbuild
So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable. — While most girls dreams may be to be successful enough to live in a big beautiful castle/home, I’m dreaming of the day I will be back living in a van. To each their own🙃 Would you rather live in a tiny home or an extremely larger than average home? . Tomorrow we will be having another vanbuild day for those following it:) Have a good weekend everyone!! 🏰🚐
Us. Kelly and Dave. Real people doing real (unusual) things ♥︎↠ 🚐 . Most people wouldn’t look at this van and see a future house for themselves in it. But we aren’t most people 🙃So this is the beginning of our second van build. There will be so many “firsts” for us on this one though.. Including installing windows into her! After much debating on which windows we wanted to get, we purchased 4 new windows online this morning. That means next week we will be cutting 4 very large holes into the body of a van and that we just bought. That is absolutely terrifying yet exciting at the same time. Lots of researching, reading, learning, and DOING (thankfully Dave is so handy). We definitely don’t know what we’re doing all the time, but we believe in each other and believe that we will always figure things out eventually. #vanbuild #vanlife
“People who are unable to motivate themselves must be content with mediocrity, no matter how impressive their talents”. — Last year we were able to explore a myriad of nature’s greatest mountain ranges throughout Europe because of a strong motivation within ourselves to make changes in our lives. It allowed us to go far beyond the mediocre, and motivated us to then make further changes to be able to keep living that way for longer term. The last few months have been tough as we were saving up to buy another van (meaning less exploring right now), but persistence paid off because we finally have the van! — Fulltime vanlife is once again in our close reach, and we are so motivated to build it out (despite it being older + unusual to some) and save more money to get back out exploring those mountains fulltime. — YOU alone are responsible for motivating yourself to do what needs to be done in order to reach your dreams. EVERYONE has some sort of talent, and a LIFE to be lived. Use it and live it to your full potential. ✨
Going with the Flo. — We have named our van/home Flo ☺️ What started as a joke saying “Well she’s a sprinter, so who’s the fastest female sprinter in the world?” We googled and the answer was a woman named Florence. We immediately loved the name especially knowing it could be Flo for short. We will “go with the Flo” and “go wherever Flo takes us”. — So happy to get started converting her into our home. We will be ripping out her interior starting on Saturday, so be sure to watch my stories if interested in the conversion 🤙🏻 #vanlife #vanbuild
EXCITING NEWS! We have officially bought our new van/home! She is a used Sprinter 3500 cargo van, that we intend to self-convert into our fulltime home on wheels over the next few months! 🏡There is a lot of work to be done on her, but as we rip out the interior to have a completely clean slate to work with, the build possibilities are endless. It will be our second time building one out and we couldn’t be more excited to start this next chapter of our adventures ♥︎🚐 #vanlife
