Me. Unwashed hair and tired body but full of life. A photo I don’t particularly love of myself and a picture that was taken within a 5 minute walk of a parking lot. But this picture was taken at the end of a week that we hiked 61 miles within 7 days. A week that we went without a proper shower, hence the unwashed hair. A week full of pain and rain and smiles and pride and some of my favorite hikes I’ve ever done. So although this particular photo I don’t love of myself, and usually wouldn’t post, I am in love with what I’m doing. And that’s what matters most. #canada #travel #vanlife #womenwhohike
My happy place. High above the roads most traveled on the trails filled with epic views and wildlife. The views that look like backdrops and paintings but are real right before my own eyes. The trails that go from hot sunny starts to cold snowy peaks and back down again. The trails that make my knees ache so bad while remembering I couldn’t do it without those said knees. So grateful for my legs, the ability to walk through the pain, the ability to move, breathe, see and experience so much that most don’t dare venture to see. Grateful for the things I learn, every wild animal I see, and the memories I make every time I challenge myself to keep going. Challenge yourself to DO what makes you happy. Don’t just talk about it. Love y’all.
The cleanest purest coldest glacial water. No picture or video could do justice to the majestic yet peaceful feeling this place made me feel. I stared at the high mountain walls and kept saying it looked like a painting. If it looked like this in the middle of July, I can’t help but wonder how much snow and ice covers this place in the winter time. We had to walk over a few sketchy patches of snow on the hike up and the ascent challenged my legs... but it was all totally worth it when we reached the glacier. We sat, stared, ate lunch, appreciated what was in front of us and talked about our favorite places we have been in the world while we there. This spot was added to that list. #montana #glaciernationalpark #travel
We hiked 38 miles the past 3 days throughout Glacier National Park. It instantly easily became my favorite park in all of the USA. The landscape is stunning in all directions as 95% of the park is left wild. . A retired park ranger happened to be hiking in front of me on the trail pictured and explained to me that the bear grass (white flowers around me) only grows about once every 7 years and is thriving this year. I thought it was beautiful before he told me that but didn’t know it didn’t grow every year. Although called bear grass, it has nothing to do with bears. However, we did see multiple bears throughout our time in Glacier National Park. There is so much wildlife and we were fortunate to see a ton of it. My legs may feel dead but my memories of this place are forever. #montana #glaciernationalpark #travel
Give me a home where the buffalo roam. We have a sign that says that on the wall inside our van.. and our wishes certainly came true in the Badlands and then in Yellowstone and also today in Montana. Wild bison herds have crossed in front of us multiple times and hundreds filled the fields and valleys outside our van. Swipe for more photos! 🐃 #vanlife #badlandsnps
Waking up to views like these. Slept on top of a mountain across from the Tetons and drove down it to see this. Truth be told we were super grateful for our van this particular morning.. for her ability to go off-roading up and down a mountain with a squeaky suspension (that we’re fixing yet again today). Although we’re super adventurous ourselves, It’s a road we probably wouldn’t have driven if we hadn’t met and followed @mileswmyles up that road in his 4x4 suv that day. — You have one life.. full of ups, downs, amazing surprises, and really tough moments you will never understand. Life and time will always keep moving on regardless of sadness or happiness, so live and learn from each moment and push yourself to live the life you desire most each and every day. #vanlife #happy #neverstopexploring
